About me
Hello, and welcome!
I’m Andrea McCloskey, founder of Speech Connect, an independent Speech and Language Therapy service. I’ll be working directly with you and your child every step of the way. With 18 years of experience, I’m based in the North West and registered with the HCPC and RCSLT, with full DBS clearance so you can feel confident that your child is in safe hands. Over the years, I’ve worked in a wide range of education and clinical settings, including nurseries, schools, youth justice services, and CAMHS, supporting children and young people with diverse communication needs. I believe that children make the best progress when support takes place in the environments that matter most to them. I work collaboratively with families, schools, and other professionals to build strong communication foundations and create meaningful change. I have a special interest, as well as specific training and experience, in working with children and young people who stammer. I started Speech Connect because I truly believe every child deserves the chance to communicate with confidence. Seeing progress, whether it’s clearer speech, more confident sentences, or growing self-esteem never stops being rewarding.
